** MOW  welcomes community volunteers and groups who would like to plan and hold a MOW special event. Please E-mail or call 716-693-1663 with your idea. Minimum three weeks advance notice required for approval.

Volunteer Opportunities

at

 N.T. Meals on Wheels

            Volunteers are needed for either

                        • same day each week (Mon.- Fri.)

                        • “substitutes” whenever a volunteer will be absent  in kitchen, driver, or server

 

 KITCHEN HELPERS

• 8:00 am  to 11:30 am

• Helps the cooks  prepare hot meals

• Makes sandwiches

• Fills lunch bags

• Fills hot meal trays

 

 DRIVER

 

• 10:30 am to 12:15 pm

• Uses their own car/van

• Delivers food

 

SERVER

 

•  10:30 am to 12:15 pm

• Rides along with driver

• Takes food into the home of the client

• Reports on the “well-being” of clients

 

Additional Opportunities:   Dedicated volunteers willing to supply their time and talents are always needed to help on special projects.

   Volunteers 55(?) years of age and over are eligible to join RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program.)  Membership in this program includes several benefits:

·                   l  Excess medical coverage while performing volunteer work.

·                   l  Limited expense reimbursement for travel to and from volunteer assignments.

·                   l  Annual banquet and recognition for volunteer hours.
